New Paintings
by Guy Howard-Smith
Howard-Smith presents a collection of jewel-like paintings derived from his recent trips to India and investigations into his fathers mixed-race Anglo-Indian community. These works lean on notions of magic realism espoused by Eurasian authors like Micheal Ondaatje and Alan Sealy to fill the gaps, and create roots that bind identity to place and time.
